Stranger Danger Carpet Cleaners
We have been told about a stranger who is knocking on doors in the Loughborough area and offering people a free carpet clean in return for a recommendation. Our advice is not to let anyone into your home under any circumstances and just take their leaflet to investigate them at your leisure. Here is the story we were told:
“I have just had a smartly dressed gentleman knock on my door (despite having a no cold callers sign on my door!) offering a free carpet clean, in order to get “word of mouth recommendations” in area. He indicated it was a 100 year old company, but I could not see company name, so I asked what it was. He then pointed out in very small print the name J C Systems, with a Leicester phone number at the bottom of his leaflet. Clearly this name was deliberately kept small on the leaflet.
I declined offer, he then offered free clean of suite or de sanitisation of bed, I again declined. After he left I goggled JC Systems it has no website, but I can see an advertisement for sales people, and a company described as sellers of appliances. I do hate this sort of thing….so beware!”
