Loughborough School needs old Decorations
We are always inundated with appeals over the Christmas period, but this one is NOT for money, so please do read on…
One of the School staff is asking for donations of Christmas decorations this week to decorate their Santa’s Grotto. So if you live in or close to Loughborough, when you get your box of baubles and fairy lights down from the loft, please have a look to see if there are some that you don’t use anymore.
They need them for Christmas DISCO being held on the 15th December where for just £1 per Student, everyone is taken to visit Santa and gets a present, as well as Tea, Coffee, Mince Pies and a Tuck Shop!! All children are accompanied by their parents or carers.
This week on the 8th and 10th is their performance of Christmas around the World and the 15th is their Carol Concert, so you can see that time is of the essence here and any help you can provide to this local School for some festive lights, tinsel or baubles will be very welcomed.
It is very tempting to buy new decorations when you see them in the shops, so here is a perfect excuse for you to invest in some and also put your old ones to good use. After all, they are only hanging for 30 days or less and then boxed up again, so it takes years for them to be worn out.
Ashmount School provides education for 125 pupils with special educational needs, based in the Thorpe Acre area of Loughborough in a purpose built campus environment with Charnwood College.
They have higher staffing ratios and a multi-disciplinary team, working in close co-operation with parents, with involvement of the educational psychologist, specialist teachers and therapists. Learning is generally assisted by task analysis, small stages, frequent and regular repetition, generalisation, parents’ involvement and regular positive reinforcement.
